Incident

Unavailability of automatic renewal via PayPal

Affected components : Payment processing (Operational)

  1. Resolved

PayPal has confirmed to us today that there was an incident with the Reference Transaction/Billing Agreement service, which appears to have affected PulseHeberg. Since 5 PM (Paris time), we have noticed that the reference transaction service is functioning again.

We have restored the PayPal payment system to its standard operation, and we will retry the payments that failed over the weekend.

    This incident is now resolved.

  2. Monitoring

We are still working with PayPal on this incident. We had confirmation earlier today from PayPal's technical team that the issue is on PayPal side. However it's likely that the issue will not be fixed until Monday.

PayPal is still available to order or renew your services. However automatic payment are not available, meaning each payment needs to be completed manually from your customer area.

Customers affected by this incident (whose PayPal payment fails to be debited automatically) will be notified by email when the automatic payment fails. These customers can pay their invoice manually via PayPal (or any other payment method) from their customer area.

  3. Monitoring

Our team has just implemented a workaround for the PayPal reference transaction issue. Users who prefer can now purchase and renew services by making a one-time payment through PayPal.

We are closely monitoring feedback from PayPal to reinstate the automatic payment via reference transaction, aiming to conclusively resolve this issue.

  4. Investigating

Our team is currently developing an alternative solution that would enable our clients to make manual payments via PayPal, bypassing the reference transaction service that facilitates automatic renewals.

This temporary fix is intended to ensure that customers, who can only pay using PayPal, are still able to purchase and renew services with PulseHeberg.

  5. Investigating

Since March 8, 2024, around 9 PM, we have been experiencing errors with our payment processing through PayPal. We are in communication with PayPal's technical services to gather more information.

The issue seems to be with the PayPal Reference Transaction API, which has been rejecting our payment requests since approximately 9 PM on March 8, 2024.

We advise our customers to please use an alternative payment method for the time being or to contact our support if it is not possible to use a payment method other than PayPal.

We apologize for this issue, which is beyond our control, and are doing everything we can to restore PayPal payment services.
